Avanza Business Support Program
The Avanza Program, in partnership with United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, is a free program for small businesses designed to empower Latino-owned businesses in Marion County. This program offers a combination of micro-grants, personalized business navigation services, and a supportive network. Avanza aims to foster mutual growth and enhance the collective capacity of the Latino business in our community.

Enhance business capabilities through mentorship, workshops, and hands-on training.
Program Services:
micro Grants*
– Provide small financial grants to small businesses meeting the program criteria.
– Use grants for business needs such as equipment, software, renovations, planning, marketing etc.
Business Navigation Services
– Assess business needs and offer personalized guidance.
– Connect businesses with resources and opportunities for growth.
Practicum and Training:
– Engage businesses in a hands-on practicum, offering training in business basics and branding.
– Paid practicum for associates to gain real-world experience.
How it Works:
Application and Referrals
– Simple and quick application process to assess eligibility and business needs.
– Businesses provide basic information and describe their challenges and goals.
Assessment
– Evaluate the needs of each business to tailor support and services.
– Determine eligibility for grants and other program benefits.
Support and Monitoring:
– Provide ongoing support through mentorship, workshops, and business navigation services.
– Monitor progress and adjust support as needed to ensure meaningful outcomes.
